Tithebarn Home
May 2013

Brethren, Bro. Ted Corrie, Charity Steward Fermor Lodge of Mark Master Masons No 1113 identified a need at the R.N.B.I. Tithebarn Home in Crosby where he is a daily visitor.

One of the day rooms having been re-decorated did not have a fire in the fireplace which left it looking unfinished. Following conversations with the home Manager and scouring brochures, an electric fire with coal effect was selected and submitted for consideration by the Mark Charity committee.

Having presented this project I was pleased to be able to give Ted the go ahead to proceed with his negotiations. Things soon progressed and during the conversations with the sales team at Dimplex G.D.C. and Karen Trewick Director of Communications, and Joanne Thomas Promotions Manager, they offered to supply the chosen fire free of charge and deliver within a few days to the home.

The fire duly arrived and after the usual “checks and tests” the fireplace now sports a flame effect fire giving a warm glowing effect adding to the homeliness and ambience of the room as seen in the accompanying photographs, showing the Deputy Manager, members of staff and Ted showing off the new acquisition.
The residents for whom this was intended have expressed much pleasure in its use when the room is occupied.

Both the home manager and Ted have expressed their gratitude to Karan and Joanne in the sales and promotion department of Dimplex GDC for arranging such a generous gift which has given so much pleasure to the residents of the home.
